How it Works

All eligible candidates can apply online on the relevant website by providing all the information requested and uploading the necessary documents. Successful applicants will be emailed a provincial certificate, and a confirmation will also be posted in the Express Entry system. The acceptance must be done on the system within 30 days. You will get an extra 600 CRS points, paving the way for permanent residence when the next Express Entry draw happens.

How it works

You must meet all the eligibility terms for this stream, including an Express Entry profile. You will receive an LOI to your Express Entry account. You must apply to the NSNP with all the relevant documents within 30 days. A nomination certificate is offered if your papers are in order. The same must be accepted within 30 days. You will get an additional 600 CRS points and an invitation to apply for permanent residence during the next draw.

Skilled Worker Stream

Minimum Requirements

Age between 21 and 55 years

A full-time employment offer from a local employer

High school education at the minimum

The qualification, training, licensing, or certification to carry out the duties

A minimum of 12 months of relevant work experience in the last five years

How it works

Check your eligibility, gather and upload the required documents, and submit your application. Successful applicants will get a nomination certificate in their email, and it will also go to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You must then take steps to apply for permanent residence directly with IRCC within six months. You can also ask for a Letter of Support for allotting a temporary work permit from the NSOI. This allows you to stay back in the province when the IRCC processes your permanent residency application.

This stream is for applicants from the following occupations

Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

Food and beverage serving workers

Food counter attendants, helpers in the kitchen, and related occupations

Light duty cleaners

Transport truck drivers

Heavy equipment operators (not of cranes)

Construction trades helpers and labourers

Minimum Requirements

Age between 21 and 55 years

A full-time job offer from a local employer in any of the above occupation

One year of work experience in any such occupation

A minimum qualification of high school education

Relevant training or education for the job

Minimum language requirement of CLB 4

Financially stable to settle permanently in Nova Scotia

How it works

Ensure you are eligible for this Immigration stream. Collect, upload, and submit the documents requested. You will receive a nomination certificate if your application is approved. It will be sent in your emall or to the IRCC. You can apply for permanent residence but must complete the process within six months. While the IRCC is processing your application for permanent residency, you can request a Letter of Support, a temporary work permit. It allows you to stay back legally until the procedures are completed.

International Graduates In-Demand Stream

You can apply in this stream if you are in these occupations – nurse aides, patient service associates, and orderlies. Child educators and assistants can also apply.

Entrepreneur Stream

Minimum Requirements

At least 21 years old

Must have net business and legally acquired personal assets of at least CAD 600,000

You must have accumulated your net worth through legal means

A minimum of three years of business ownership experience or worked for more than five years as a senior business manager

Must agree to invest a minimum of CAD 150,000 in Nova Scotia business

Must meet language requirements of CLB 5 in English or French

At least a high school education

Must have a Business Establishment Plan

How it works

To apply for the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program, begin by checking your eligibility and submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). If your score is high enough, you’ll receive an invitation to apply, requiring a business plan and net worth verification. An in-person interview follows, and upon approval, you’ll get a Business Performance Agreement (BPA) to sign and instructions for your work permit application. After arriving in Nova Scotia, comply with the BPA, transfer funds, and submit necessary reports to receive your nomination for permanent residency.

International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

Minimum Requirements

A full-time post-secondary degree or diploma from Nova Scotia during which you must have lived In the province

You prove you intend to live here

You already own and operate a business in Nova Scotia or must have managed one for at least one year before submitting your EOI

Meet the language requirement of CLB 7business as compensation

Age must be at least 21 years

Must have a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit

You must own one-third of an eligible business and participate in its dally management

Prove that you receive a salary from your business as compensation.

How it works

Make sure you are eligible and submit an EOI. You will get a score based on your answers. If your score is high, you will be invited to apply. You must provide an application, supporting papers, a review engagement, and a special purpose report when you submit the application. A chosen Financial Statement Review Service Provider will analyze your financial statements and create a report. Next comes the personal interview. You will be nominated for permanent residence if you perform well and satisfy all the conditions.

If you meet the requirements, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview. After that, if the officer is satisfied, you will be nominated for permanent residence. You can apply for permanent residency directly with IRCC within six months.

Physical Stream

Minimum Requirements

Must be a general practitioner, family, or specialist physician

Must have signed approved opportunity with the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre

Must have the qualification or training needed for licensure in the province
